What is an HSA (Health Savings Account)?
A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a savings account that can only be used towards medical costs. HSAs work with high deductible health plans (HDHPs). The money saved in your HSA ensures that you have money to pay for your medical services while you are still in the process of reaching your deductible and your coverage has not kicked in yet.
HSAs are tax-sheltered.
HSA plans will work to your advantage if you are generally healthy and you are able to regularly set aside money for your HSA.
